BECKY RUGG

Becky graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2008 with a BA in Studio Art (concentrations in drawing, painting, and mixed media) and a minor in Art History. She is now working on her MFA in Fabric Design at the University of Georgia where she also has a teaching assistantship.

"I am interested in the idea of the 'everyday' and everyday items. When I moved to Georgia I left everything and everyone that I know to live in a basement apartment by myself. I now spend most of my time alone, either in my studio or at my apartment. During this time, I started to take note of all the objects around me. I realize that I place some level of importance on these inanimate objects as they become a part of my daily life, or reference things that are important or exciting to me. These quilted pieces are a glimpse into my daily life, a sort of diary of images compiled simply from observation."
