PLEASE NOTE
This page is provided for informational purposes only, and is subject to change at any time. Bookings are made via email, by telephone, or in person. Contact us using the link below with specific questions, or to inquire about making a reservation to display your artwork at the Lazy Dog.

The Lazy Dog presents month-long exhibitions of work by local and regional artists. If you are an artist and interested in showing your work, please contact us at the link below.

We will happily consider any work that is suited to our space. We do not exhibit works that present extreme or offensive images or behavior. This includes explicit nudity, acts of sex or violence, or most anything that would not be appropriate in a family-centered environment. The decision as to what is acceptable or not is at the sole discretion of the Lazy Dog management.

THINGS TO DO

E-mail us your bio and a photo as soon as you arrange for a date to display your work. We will post these on our website.
Come by the Lazy Dog to view the space and plan how you will hang your artwork.
Make sure your artwork is framed and ready for hanging.
Label your artwork. Include a price if the item is available for sale, or specify "Not for Sale".
Bring some brochures and business cards - we will be happy to display these for you.
Tell your family and friends about the month-long showing, and encourage them to come out to enjoy the Lazy Dog, view and purchase your work.

HANGING /REMOVING YOUR ARTWORK

Hang artwork, usually six to eight pieces, on the first Sunday of the month (typical). Remove your artwork on the last Saturday of the month (typical). Set-up, take-down and "Meet the Artist" dates will be specified at the time a month is offered to you.

SELLING YOUR ARTWORK

The Lazy Dog will accept your work on a consignment basis. We will add sales tax and collect payment for any items sold. We request that a minimum of 80% of the work you display be listed for sale. The Lazy Dog will collect a commission of 20% on any artwork sold . There are no other charges or costs involved with displaying your work. If your artwork does not sell, there is no charge to you of any kind for the exhibition.

ARTWORK RESPONSIBILITY

Each artist is completely responsible for their artwork. The Lazy Dog only provides you with the space. There is a risk you take when hanging your art in a public space. If you do not feel comfortable with this risk, then this is not the venue for you. The Lazy Dog will not be responsible for damaged, lost or stolen artwork.

OUR DISPLAY SPACE

Our artist wall measures 8'8" wide. Allowing for the bio holder (a CD case), brochure holder, and some free space at the edge of each wall, the actual useable space is about 7'6".  The height to the bottom of the metal bar used to hang the chains that hold the artwork is 6'11". Use these measurements and look at the photos of previous artist's displays when planning your layout.
