Lazy Dog Coffeehouse
The BC Combo
Bev Conklin, Wayne Smith, Nick Franclik

Bev Conklin (Vocals)
Fondly called BC, Bev started her singing career with BC & The Blues Crew in 1992. Prior to that her music began as a poetry writer, 13 years of classical piano, a short lived stint on violin and flute in grade school and then the nuns taught her how to play acoustic guitar.  This is when her songwriting began. Bev played acoustic guitar for 3 years at her church for the Children's Masses during her high school years and was always in school choruses, including county, regional and state. Playing guitar lasted throughout college as a stress releaser, and it remains a quiet hobby. The Girls with Lori Donovan and Sarah Ayers is on hold for now. She performed most recently with regional powerhouses Octavia Lamb and Alicia Burke (Analog Velvet with Nick Roberti) at the 2009 Great Allentown Fair.  She will be filling in on occasion for Friar's Point as they search for a lead singer. Working with Bruce Siekmann, BC contributed one of his compilation songs, "Get a Job Bob!" And over the years, BC has contributed on Bummertent Records Blues compilation I and for the Lehigh Valley Christmas at Allentown Symphony Hall sponsored by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce with City Entertainment Sound & Systems.

Wayne Smith (Guitar, Percussion, Vocals)
Wayne, a singer/songwriter, has been the primary arranger and producer for BC & Company (BC & The Blues Crew since 1994). Playing in bands since 1967, he spent 10 years with Jay and the Techniques (“Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie”). With the Techniques he also backed up other artists such as Tommy Roe, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Outsiders (“Time Won’t Let Me”), Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), The Miracles, and many others. Wayne has worked with Rock Roots with Dave Frye, Nick Franclik and other oustanding area musicians, touring the schools throughout the Northeast.  He teaches at Hawk Music with his brother Dave Smith at the Westgate Mall in Bethlehem, PA.

Nick Franclik (Bass, Guitar, Vocals)
Nick Franclik is a freelance bass player, bass instructor, audio engineer and producer. Since 1993 he has been a member of The Electric Farm, voted Best Folk-Rock Band in the Lehigh Valley Music Awards - 2000. The Farm has two CD's out, "Six" and "Boomschlang Viper Story". Recent projects have been performing with and recording the CD "A Perfect World" released December 2003 by singer-songwriter Franki Alazar, and performing with and recording "High Action" released May 2004 by The Eric Steckel Band. Other artists Nick has worked with include: Craig Thatcher Band, Dave Fry, Wayne Smith, Dem Hills, Mary Hawkins, The Bad Actors and Donny Mayer and The Ravens.
