BEST OF OPEN MIC #6

David Derbes8:00-8:45
DAVID DERBES

David Derbes is a Pottsville-based musician with a broad range of music writing and performing experience. In 2005 he returned to his original passion, songwriting, resulting in a library of over 35 songs for vocal and acoustic guitar or piano. His song styles range from country crossover to adult contemporary and are often about falling in, or out, of love - serious or with a whimsical twist. Dave is no stranger to the stage in jazz, rock, classical and church music. However, publicly performing his original music was not a goal until he visited the Lazy Dog Coffeehouse, Minersville, where he often joins other musicians and singers at the Open Mic on Thursdays. He strives to connect with his audience through his lyrics and music, with hopes that the listener experiences something new and walks away with a new song in mind.

Screamin' TIM STOUDT & Friends
THE MELLOW MADMAN

From the early seventies to the late eighties, Screamin’ Tim Stoudt was a mainstay entertainer to many lounges, clubs and inns in the Allentown-Pottstown area.
A true heart and soul entertainer, with two television appearances to his credit. In 1978, Tim made a quest appearance on the long running family show, The Al Albert’s Showcase; which was broadcast every Sunday morning from Philadelphia on the ABC Network affiliate WPVI-TV. Al Albert’s was lead singer in the 40’s Vocal Group “The Four Aces.” He introduced Tim by saying; “Tim’s coworkers would be a happy bunch if Tim would bring his guitar with him to work.”
Appearing regularly at the Bally Hotel in Sally, Pa, Cutillos in Pottstown, and The Gilbertsville Hotel, Tim cut short his career as an established entertainer to concentrate solely on his family obligations. Returning several years later to the inns and clubs in the area, Tim was offered to Headline an appearance on the spotlight show; Phil Stahls Starlight Stage. Doing all original material, Screamin’ Tim performed five original compositions. To this day no show on PCTV has been aired more times in rerun than Tim’s appearance. Retiring again in 1990 to complete his obligations to his children; Tim has decided, 15 years later, to start from scratch, bringing his colorful blend of cover tunes, original material, and his comedic take of life’s observations to the Schuylkill county area.

Appearing with Tim will be Matthew Samluck (upright bass)
