ROGER HARRIS

 

   

Roger Harris, originally a Connecticut native, spent twenty years performing in North America, the Caribbean and parts of Europe with various pop and variety acts, including his own roadshow "Roger Harris and Diamond". He appeared both as a vocalist and featured instrumentalist in many Atlantic City venues including Bally's, Resorts International, the Tropicana and the Taj Mahal.
He has been settled in Reading for ten years, and has now returned his attention to the jazz standards from the Great American Songbook that attracted him to music as a young solo guitarist. These include tunes from composers like the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Hoagie Carmichael and Fats Waller, and big band mainstays like Duke Ellington and Count Basie that provide a recognizable and appealing musical foundation for his deft jazz excursions.
